Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence.
If your life has taken a sudden turn and you're not quite sure what is happening to you, if you have taken yourself into a space of withdrawal, if you are meditating long hours and have temporarily stopped eating, if you are having visions and paranormal experiences and are able to rationally observe them, if you are hearing loving voices of instruction from within and are aware of a loving "presence", then this page is definitely for you as you are most likely entering "Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence", the initiatory phase of "Soul Integration".
The following experiences are common to Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence, or the effects of the Kundalini energy rising in the body's energy
system:
Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence and Psychosis
You will notice that many of the signs appear similar to those symptoms experienced by people in states of psychosis. It is common for the states to be confused and inappropriately diagnosed. Some excellent work has been carried out in this area, but the regular mainstream health providers have little knowledge or awareness of the differences between the two states.
Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence and psychosis are two entirely different states and clarity of definition is required in the professional arena.
It is highly likely that some people who are being treated for psychosis are experiencing Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence. It is also highly likely that some few people who are experiencing Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence are having difficulty integrating the energetic changes and the psychological processes and need help to do so to prevent the possibility of psychosis. Most at risk are those with a history of drug and alcohol use, or physical and/or sexual abuse. The common element that I have observed for people experiencing difficulty is the inability to "ground" themselves, or to appropriately earth the increased upper chakra energies. The access to the flow of earth energies must also balance the access to the crown energy. In other words, the person must be able to "be in the body", once the initial phase of high frequency energies passes. Traditional peoples practised a ritual of placing the person in an earth pit to help them to "ground". This should not be practised without great care, since body temperatures that drop too far or rise too high can cause shock. Certainly it should not be attempted by westerners imitating indigenous practices. It should be remembered that such practices were eons old, and carefully controlled by experience.
What I do suggest is to take the person on retreat to the country to a place that has a good solid grounded feel about it. The person needs solitude and care that is supportive but not imposing. Walking barefoot on the earth, sitting on the ground, swimming in fresh water, tending a fire and meditating in the natural environment will usually help the person to bring the energies into balance. Don't let the person wander off on long wilderness trails, if they are experiencing difficulty with the Spontaneous Emergence. Networks of support and assistance may be contacted by doing a general search on the Internet, typing in "Spiritual Emergence Australia" for example. Some support network addresses are given at the end of this page. However, for those who are flowing comfortably with the Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence, the long walk pilgrimage is an age-old method of dealing with the early phase of Soul Integration, once the initial "paranormal" effects reduce in intensity.
A Word for Friends and Families:-
Your loved one is going through a process of change! The person experiencing genuine Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence is not mentally ill, but simply going through a transformative process that happens quite naturally in the course of human development. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it is happening with greater frequency, and even to some quite young adults. You may not understand what is happening for the person and they may seem to be moving away from you, and going off somewhere where you are unable to go or unable to reach them. They seem very different. The truth is that they are. But it is also true, that if you were loved by the person before the change, you will still be loved!
Soul Integration is the phase experienced after the initial Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence. In terms of esoteric physics, the person's molecular vibrational frequency is heightened by each phase of personal resolution. The molecules spin at a faster rate. When a certain spin rate is reached, the person's energetic field is able to comfortably "nest" in the energetic flow of "chi" or "prana" or "holy spirit" that permeates the universe. At this point, the person feels "at One with all of existence" and experiences synchronicity of events, as well as communion with nature and the elements. When the Sacred Geometry of the person's being is restored to wholeness, it is able to integrate with the Sacred Geometry of Creation. The person moves through cycles of decreasing and increasing frequency. With each phase of confrontation with fear, the frequency reduces. The person moves out of the "flow" and feels separated, isolated. As the issues of the challenge are resolved, the person integrates the knowing or the learning from the experience into the being state and fear dissipates. The frequency lifts and "flow" returns. With each cycle, the lift is a little higher and/or longer. The Soul level of existence is able to project directly into the solid state existence during these phases of lift of conscious awareness and increased vibrational frequency. The task is then to integrate the reality of the Soul nature with the reality of being on Earth in a body & personality within a particular cultural socialisation. This is no small stuff! The person may feel like they are living two lives for long periods of time. This phase has an intense focus upon the person's real purpose for being here on Earth, and is often accompanied by the development of "paranormal" healing powers, or special abilities that are employed in service for the benefit of humanity. Mentoring the human journey becomes a prime interest. Periods of "ordinariness" follow the cycles of Spontaneous Spiritual Emergence and Soul Integration, until there is a definite return to the culture, a coming out of the withdrawal space. Now the person walks amongst the people, participating with them in the very ordinariness of life whilst no longer being bound by the socialised conditioning. It is one thing to know about Love and compassion. It is another to BE Love and compassion. The return to participation and ordinariness is the period of testing the changes wrought by the Soul Integration process to ensure that they are able to be DONE!
